In "Gold Star," a young woman named Vicki finds herself at a crossroads after dropping out of music school and drifting between her family's home and a solitary life in New York. When her father suffers a stroke, Vicki is forced to take on the role of his primary caretaker, which challenges her to confront her own struggles and finally find a sense of purpose.
