Gallipoli (1981) is a powerful and poignant war drama that follows the journey of two young Australian soldiers, Archy and Frank, who enlist in the Australian Imperial Force during World War I. Archy is ordered to take part in the charge at the Nek, a diversion in support of the British landing at Suvla Bay. Tragically, Archy is cut down by Turkish machine gunners, symbolizing the loss of innocence and the devastating consequences of war. Gallipoli (1981) features outstanding performances from Mark Lee and Mel Gibson, who play Archy and Frank respectively.
