In this charming comedy, a young woman named Charlotte Borg is forced by her parents to marry a man she has never met. Unbeknownst to her, the man, Celestin, leads a double life as both a convent organist and a flamboyant operette composer. When Charlotte and Celestin finally meet, they fall in love, but their happiness is threatened by their respective commitments to others. As they navigate their complicated situations, they must also confront their own identity and the societal expectations placed upon them. Will they be able to follow their hearts and be true to themselves, or will their obligations tear them apart?
