In the movie "Free Skate," a young Russian figure skater flees to Finland to escape a harrowing past. Having been found battered and frostbitten by the roadside, she's taken in by her estranged Finnish grandmother. As she recovers and rediscovers her passion for skating, she must confront the dark secrets that drove her from home. With the support of her grandmother and new friends, she finds the strength to face her past and pursue her dreams, but the road to success is fraught with internal struggles and unresolved traumas. Will she find the courage to confront her troubles and reach the top of her sport, or will her past continue to haunt her?
