Frank and Cindy

A student filmmaker, G.J. Echternkamp, turns his camera on his bitter mother, Cindy, and her washed-up rock star husband, Frank, in this dramedy based on a documentary. Cindy was a groupie who married Frank, the bassist for the 80's band OXO, thinking life would be glamorous, but it didn't turn out that way. G.J. films his parents' dysfunctional relationship and their attempts to change, including Cindy's plan to fix her teeth, get a high-end job, and divorce Frank. The film also explores G.J.'s relationships with his parents and his own struggles with love and trust. In the end, the family comes together for an OXO reunion concert, and G.J. finds a sense of closure and acceptance.
