In the small town of Thurman, Texas, a religious fanatic named Dad Meiks (Bill Paxton) has a vision from God to rid the world of demons disguised as humans. Believing his mission is to destroy these demons on God's behalf - with the help of his two sons, Adam (Matthew McConaughey)and Fenton (Matt O'Leary) - Meiks' actions become increasingly unsettling as he persuades Adam to join him in carrying out these heinous crimes while Fenton becomes more and more unhinged from reality.
