When a meteor crashes in Arizona, two community college professors discover microscopic alien life forms on its surface. The government and military intervene, but the aliens quickly evolve and multiply, posing a threat to humanity. The professors team up with a hapless fireman to stop the aliens before it's too late. As the situation spirals out of control, they must use their wits and whatever resources they can find to save the world from an unprecedented and unpredictable alien population explosion.
