In a world where animals have overthrown their human oppressors, a new era of oppression has begun. The once-powerful humans are now forced to live in tiny, cramped dioramas, mere spectacles for the amusement of their new masters. The animals, boars, lions, and apes, have taken over, recreating the atrocities of the past in a twisted reversal of power. This is a dystopian tale of human cruelty, told through the lens of a fantastical, nightmarish world. The director, Rithy Panh, weaves a poignant and unsettling narrative, using clay figurines and documentary footage to create a cinematic poem that rages against the destruction of all things. The film's use of dioramas and documentary footage creates a sense of unease, as the viewer is forced to confront the horrors of humanity's past and the bleak reality of its future.
