In 1992, two high school friends, Dave and Stoney, unearth a frozen caveman in Dave's backyard during an earthquake. They thaw him out and name him Link. Link quickly adapts to modern life, charming everyone with his prehistoric ways and making Dave and Stoney popular by association. However, things take a turn when Link's wild behavior causes tension between the friends and attracts the attention of Matt, a jealous jock who humiliates Dave.
