In Embryo follows the story of Sean, a successful but troubled criminal who has built a life of order and control in the dangerous streets of Los Angeles. When he meets Lilly, a beautiful and mysterious waitress, he is immediately drawn to her and hopes to bring her into his life. However, Lilly is struggling with a destructive heroin addiction that threatens to tear them both apart. As Sean tries to help her overcome her addiction, he is confronted with the harsh realities of his own past and the consequences of his actions. The film takes a tragic look at the destructive power of love and the impossible task of trying to save someone from their own demons.
