In 1901 Mexico City, a group of high-society men, including the son-in-law of President Porfirio Díaz, were caught by the police during a secret party where they were dressed in women's clothing. The scandal, known as the Dance of the Forty-One, rocked the nation and had a lasting impact on Mexican culture. This film tells the story of Ignacio de la Torre, a gay congressman who marries the president's daughter but struggles with his sexuality and his membership in a secret club of homosexual men. When the police raid the club, Ignacio's double life is exposed, leading to a scandal that threatens to destroy his political career and his family's reputation. Based on real events, "Dance of the Forty One" is a powerful drama about identity, secrecy, and corruption in the highest echelons of Mexican society.
