Don Juan DeMarco

Don Juan DeMarco (1994) is a romantic comedy-drama film that tells the story of a young man, John Arnold DeMarco (played by Johnny Depp), who believes he is the legendary Don Juan, the greatest lover in the world. After a failed suicide attempt, John is taken to a mental institution where he meets Dr. Jack Mickler (played by Marlon Brando), a psychiatrist who is about to retire. Dr. Mickler poses as Don Octavio de Flores and listens to John's story, which is full of inconsistencies and fantastical elements. Despite this, Dr. Mickler is fascinated by John's tale and starts to rekindle his own passion for life, including reconnecting with his wife. As the ten-day evaluation period comes to an end, Dr. Mickler must convince John to take his medication and come to terms with the fact that not everyone believes he is Don Juan. The film features an all-star cast, including Faye Dunaway, Rachel Ticotin, and Bob Dishy, and has become a cult classic.
