Dark Blue Almost Black

Dark Blue Almost Black tells the story of Jorge, a young man who puts his life on hold to take care of his stroke-afflicted father and work as a janitor. When his childhood crush returns from studying abroad, Jorge yearns for something better and tries to find a new job, but his lack of experience in anything but janitorial work hinders him. His older brother Antonio, soon to be released from prison, meets Paula, a beautiful young woman in jail on drug charges, and falls in love with her. Antonio asks Jorge to help him get Paula pregnant so she can be moved to the jail's maternity ward, but Jorge hesitates, torn between his loyalty to his brother and his own desires. Meanwhile, their father's hypocrisy is revealed when Jorge's best friend Israel discovers that he is a client of an erotic masseur, leading Israel to question his own sexuality. As Jorge's relationship with Natalia becomes complicated, he finds himself drawn to Paula during his regular visits to the women's prison. A unique and poignant relationship develops between them, leading to unexpected changes in all their lives.
