In the midst of 1960s San Francisco's counterculture, a mysterious dream-eating creature known as a Baku has escaped from the secretive Cryptozoo, a refuge for mythical beings. Lauren Grey, a veterinarian cryptozoologist and the zoo's main guardian, embarks on a mission to recapture the Baku before it falls into the wrong hands.
