Corona Film Club

"Corona Film Club" is a documentary that follows the story of 82-year-old filmmaker and film critic Stig Björkman during the pandemic year of 2020. As the world and Sweden are forced to come to a standstill, Stig finds himself isolated in his small two-room apartment in central Stockholm. With his usual jet-setting lifestyle grounded, Stig turns to technology to stay in touch with his friends and colleagues in the film industry. Through Zoom calls, he reaches out to a variety of people, including actresses Isabella Rossellini and Alicia Vikander, and director Olivier Assayas, to talk about life, the pandemic, and how they're spending their days. Through these conversations, Stig finds a way to cope with the isolation and loneliness of being stuck at home, and discovers new ways to connect with others in a world that's been turned upside down.
