Frequently asked questions

What is Churchill about? Toggle content

"Churchill" is a historical drama that follows the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the 96 hours leading up to the D-Day landings in Normandy during World War II. Exhausted by years of war and haunted by his past mistakes, Churchill is reluctant to embark on the large-scale campaign, fearing it will be a repeat of the disastrous Gallipoli Campaign. Clashing with his Allied political opponents, including U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower and British Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, Churchill receives support and devotion from his wife, Clementine. As tensions mount and the fate of the war effort hangs in the balance, Churchill must confront his doubts and fears to make a decision that will determine the course of history.
