What is Bullets Over Broadway about? Toggle content

In 1920s New York City, a young playwright named David Shayne makes a deal with the devil when he accepts funding for his play from a powerful gangster, Nick Valenti. In exchange, Valenti's girlfriend, Olive, lands a role in the production, despite her lack of talent. As rehearsals begin, Shayne struggles to work with Olive and the other actors, including a faded star and a compulsive eater. But things take a dark turn when Olive's bodyguard, Cheech, starts giving notes on the script and eventually murders Olive in a fit of rage. With the play's success hanging in the balance, Shayne must confront the consequences of his Faustian bargain and decide what's truly important to him. Will he choose art or life?
