Balkan Bazar

In the comedy film "Balkan Bazar," two women, Jolie and Orsola, embark on a journey to find the remains of their grandfather and father, who died in Italy and was meant to be transported to France. However, due to an error, the coffin ends up in a small village in southern Albania, near the Greek border. Accompanied by an Albanian journalist, they discover a bizarre trafficking of human bones orchestrated by the local Orthodox priest, who is attempting to fill the graves of a military cemetery in Greece with the remains of Albanian ancestors. The film reinterprets real events that took place in the village of Përmet, where the residents tried to sell their ancestors' remains to Greek authorities as victims of the 1940-1941 Italian Campaign of Greece.
