Backwards

In 1989, a young woman named Maryśka becomes pregnant with an older militiaman's child, but he refuses to accept responsibility and pressures her into an abortion. Despite the difficult circumstances and her ambitious plans, Maryśka decides to give birth and raise her son, who is diagnosed with autism. With the help of her older sister Marta, Maryśka faces a constant battle against the indifference of the authorities and the lack of support for her child's special needs. As her son grows up, his unique personality and determination inspire those around him, leading to a groundbreaking movement that changes the Polish education system forever.
