Baasha

Baasha is a Tamil action film released in 1995. It tells the story of Manickam, a humble auto-rickshaw driver who lives in Madras with his family. Manickam avoids violence at all costs, but when his brother, a cop, gets into trouble with some goons, it triggers a set of events that revive Manickam's old self. Manickam's past is revealed, showing how he used to be a gangster named Manick Baashha in Bombay, who took on the city's criminal underworld after his friend's death. He later faked his own death and moved to Madras to start a peaceful life. However, his past comes back to haunt him when he encounters the same gangster, Antony, who he thought he had killed. Manickam must now choose between his peaceful life and his old ways to protect his family and the woman he loves. The film features Rajinikanth in the lead role, and its action sequences and dialogues have become iconic in Tamil cinema.
