A young man's quest to renounce his faith and cut ties with the Catholic Church is met with resistance from the institution and his own inner conflicts. Tamayo, a 30-year-old man from Madrid, sets out to apostatize and free himself from the constraints of his religion, but finds himself tangled in bureaucracy and confronted with painful memories from his past. As he navigates this arduous process, he must confront his relationship with his prim and proper mother, the cruel acts of his childhood, his connection to an alien spirituality, and his struggles to follow his own path. Will he find the freedom he seeks?
