In the 1970s, a passionate young social worker named Christa Liniger begins her first job at a rural psychiatric clinic in Switzerland. Against the backdrop of a conservative establishment, Christa and her boyfriend Marc, a medical assistant, strive to implement their innovative ideas for treating patients with mental health issues. Despite facing resistance from the clinic's director, they remain determined to make a difference in the lives of those in their care. As they push for change, they must confront the harsh realities of the psychiatric institution and its antiquated methods. Will their idealism be enough to overcome the obstacles they face?
