Anarchist from Colony

"Anarchist from Colony" tells the powerful story of Park Yeol, a Korean anarchist who fought against Japanese colonial rule in the 1920s. As the leader of the anti-Japanese organization Bulryeongsa, Park planned to assassinate Japan's Crown Prince Hirohito, but his mission was thwarted by the Kanto Earthquake and the subsequent massacre of Koreans. The film follows Park's trial, where he and his lover Kaneko Fumiko, a Japanese nihilist, defy the Japanese government and demand equality between classes and peoples. Despite their guilty verdict, Park narrowly avoids the death sentence, but Kaneko mysteriously dies in prison. The film's final shot shows the real-life picture of Yeol and Kaneko, highlighting their courage and conviction in the face of oppression.
