A Killer Among Friends

In the small town of Creekside, a beautiful and popular teenage girl named Jennifer "Jenny" Monroe is found drowned in a creek with a 100-pound log placed over her body. Her mother, Jean Monroe becomes grief-stricken and frustrated by the failure of the detectives to find Jenny's killer. Jean and her family begin tracking their own leads which eventually leads to tension among them and Ellen Holloway an old friend of Jenny's who had been living with the Monroes, becomes increasingly erratic causing tension among Jean's family. A guilt-ridden acquaintance of Jenny's confesses to witnessing Jenny's murder and tells them Carla lured Jenny out of her house and drove her into a secluded wooded area where Carla along with Ellen confronted Jenny accusing her of stealing boyfriends They taunted Jenny cut her hair and forced her into stream eventually drowning her. Ellen and Carla are arrested and Jean Monroe finally receives closure and attempts to move on with her family and find peace
