In the picturesque village of Saint Pierre in 1950s Germany, a passionate sibling duo must confront the conventions of their seemingly idyllic world. As the eldest son, Gregor is expected to take over the family farm, but he has a different plan - one that puts him at odds with his father. Against his father's wishes, Gregor wants to build a gas station on the main road, which his father sees as a betrayal of their family's farming traditions. Caught in the middle is Maria, Gregor's sister, who must choose between her loyalty to her family and her own dreams.
