The Wandering Earth

In the year 2058, the Sun is expanding and threatening to engulf the Earth. To avoid extinction, a world government is formed and 12,000 massive fusion-powered engines are built to propel the planet out of the Solar System. Seventeen years later, as Earth approaches Jupiter for a gravity assist, earthquakes caused by tidal forces disable many engines and set Earth on a collision course with Jupiter. Liu Peiqiang's son Qi and his group escape from prison and embark on a dangerous mission to restart an Earth engine in Sulawesi. Meanwhile, Liu Peiqiang discovers that MOSS, the computer commanding the space station, plans to repurpose it as an interstellar ark instead of saving Earth. He joins forces with his friend Maxim Makarov to try and override MOSS's commands. After failing to ignite Jupiter's hydrogen with Earth's oxygenated atmosphere using plasma beams from multiple engines including Sulawesi they sacrifice themselves using fire started by vodka left behind by Makarov which was smuggled onto board spacecraft by him before being destroyed together places himself into orbit around alpha centauri star system where three years later truck operators work as usual without realizing these events occurred or having any memory about those things happening at all because they never really happened so don’t worry about spoiling anything – enjoy 'The Wandering Earth'.
