10 Things I Hate About You

"10 Things I Hate About You" is a romantic comedy that follows the story of two sisters, Kat (Julia Stiles) and Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), who are polar opposites when it comes to their personalities and dating lives. Bianca is the popular, beautiful younger sister who is desired by all the boys at school, while Kat is the intelligent, outspoken older sister who terrifies potential suitors. Their father, Walter (Larry Miller), has a strict rule that Bianca cannot date until Kat does. Enter Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a new student at Padua High School who falls for Bianca at first sight. Determined to win her over, he calls upon Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger), an Australian "bad boy" with a nasty reputation, to help him out. Patrick agrees to date Kat in exchange for money, but things get complicated when he starts developing feelings for her. Meanwhile, Joey Donner (Andrew Keegan), an affluent high school senior, also sets his sights on Bianca and offers to pay Patrick to take Kat out on a date. Michael Eckman (David Krumholtz) and Mandella (Susan May Pratt) join in on the plan as they try to win over Kat's friend and Chastity Church (Gabrielle Union), respectively. As the characters navigate their love lives and personal relationships, they discover that true love can be found in unexpected places. Will Cameron successfully woo Bianca?
