I’m Thinking of Ending Things

I kept wanting to write something about Charlie Kaufman's Netflix movie I'm Thinking of Ending Things (subject to two interpretations!), adapted from Iain Reid's novel. I found it dumbfounding, poetic, angst inducing, claustrophobic, infuriating at times but impossible to look away from. It revolves around themes like depression, failure, social awkwardness, fraught parental relationships and so much more. Jesse Plemons and Jessie Buckley as the leads are astounding, Toni Collete and David Thewlis are absolutely magnificent as a completely bonkers couple who find it impossible to relate anymore, floating in their own private worlds.
