In the dusty town of Amarillo, Texas, a serial killer is on the loose, and FBI agent Frank LaCrosse is on a personal mission to catch him. The killer has kidnapped LaCrosse's son, and the agent won't stop until he's found him. With the help of affable drifter Bob Goodall, LaCrosse tracks down the killer amidst red herrings and twists that keep him guessing.
