On Wings of Eagles

The film tells the true story of Eric Liddell, a Scottish Olympic runner who won gold in the 400 meters at the 1924 Paris Olympics. After his athletic success, Liddell became a missionary in China, where he taught and preached to local communities. However, his life took a dramatic turn when Japan invaded China in 1937, and he was taken captive by the Japanese army. Liddell was confined to a concentration camp, where he faced extreme hardships and was forced to confront his own mortality. Despite the danger, Liddell continued to spread his message of hope and faith to his fellow prisoners, inspiring them to hold onto their dignity and humanity in the face of adversity. The film stars Joseph Fiennes as Eric Liddell and Shawn Dou as Xu Niu, and features a talented supporting cast.
