...along the way, this most unlikely of drug mules has the odd adventure.

There is a nice storytelling swing to it and Eastwood is frankly far more interesting than Robert Redford was in his recent swansong.

...once again shows that Eastwood is a master filmmaker in the old Hollywood style.

The Mule is a beautiful, troubling film. It is a pearl formed around a grit of unease in the oyster of our nostalgia.
