In 1921, Tulsa, Oklahoma was home to the thriving Black Wall Street, a community of African American entrepreneurs and residents who had built a life for themselves despite the oppressive segregation and discrimination of the time. But on a fateful night in June, a group of white rioters descended upon Greenwood, the heart of the Black Wall Street, burning it to the ground and leaving countless lives lost and destroyed. This documentary tells the story of that tragic event, its aftermath, and the century-long fight for justice and repair that followed, through the lens of NBA superstar and philanthropist Russell Westbrook and directed by award-winning filmmakers Stanley Nelson and Marco Williams.
