In the movie "The New Boy," a 9-year-old Aboriginal boy is taken to a remote monastery after being captured by police. Sister Eileen, a renegade nun who runs the place, claims that the priest there is still alive, although he has been dead for a year. The boy struggles at first to fit in with the other boys who live and work there, but he eventually becomes accepted after displaying mysterious supernatural powers. When a large statue of Jesus arrives at the monastery church, the boy becomes drawn to it and starts to experience stigmata. Sister Eileen sees this as a sign of his embracing Christianity and decides to baptize him. He loses his supernatural abilities as a result, but begins to live a new life wearing clothes and footwear. However, his future remains uncertain as he is torn between two different worlds - his Aboriginal heritage and his new life at the monastery."
