André is a young man living in Porto Alegre, Brazil, who works as a photocopy machine operator. Obsessed with material wealth and tired of his mundane life, he dreams of becoming an illustrator. After he discovers his neighbor Sílvia, he becomes infatuated with her and tries to get closer, but his lack of money holds him back. One day, he photocopies a R$50 note at work, which sets off a chain of events that lead him down a dangerous path of criminal activity and moral dilemmas. As he gets deeper into a world of counterfeiting, gambling, and bank heists, André must confront the harsh realities of the social hierarchy in Brazil and the true cost of his pursuit for wealth and love. Will he find a way to achieve his dreams without losing himself in the process?
