Frequently asked questions

What is Drown about? Toggle content

In the world of surf lifesaving, Len is a legendary champion, just like his father. But when a younger, faster competitor named Phil arrives on the scene, Len's status is threatened. Tensions rise when Len discovers Phil is gay, and things come to a head when Len violently attacks Phil in the locker room. But instead of reporting the incident, Phil refuses to rat on Len, and even wins the annual surf lifesaving competition. In a twisted act of revenge, Len gets Phil drunk and humiliates him, but the encounter forces Len to confront a deep-seated truth about his own sexuality. Will he be able to accept it, or will he continue to hide behind a veil of anger and aggression?
