In a small Canadian town, a tragic school bus accident kills 14 children. Out-of-town lawyer Mitchell Stephens, haunted by his own personal demons, convinces the grieving parents to file a class-action lawsuit against the town and bus company. As the case unfolds, Nicole Burnell, a 15-year-old survivor paralyzed from the waist down, becomes a key witness. But when Nicole unexpectedly accuses the bus driver of speeding in a pretrial deposition, the lawsuit is halted. Two years later, Stephens sees the bus driver working in a different city, raising questions about the truth and the path to healing.
