In the gritty streets of Warsaw, Poland, veteran detective Tadek (Jim Carrey) is tasked with solving a high-profile murder case that has haunted the city for years. As he delves deeper into the investigation, he discovers an eerie connection between the crime and a novel written by controversial author Krystov Kozlov (Marton Csokas). The more Tadek learns about Kozlov and his enigmatic girlfriend Kasia (Charlotte Gainsbourg), the more he becomes obsessed with uncovering the shocking truth behind the murder. But as he descends into a world of sex, lies, and corruption, Tadek finds himself caught in a dangerous game where the lines between reality and fiction blur.
