Animal Farm

"Animal Farm" (1954) is an animated film adaptation of George Orwell's classic novella, a scathing satire of totalitarianism and the dangers of unchecked power. After the animals of Manor Farm rise up against their drunken and cruel owner, they establish their own self-sufficient community, but the revolution soon goes awry as the pigs, led by Napoleon, assume control and impose their own brand of tyranny. As the pigs become more and more human-like, the other animals are left to suffer under their rule. The film's powerful allegory explores the corrupting influence of power and the danger of blind loyalty.
